I train about 20 hours per week during the school year and about 35 per week during the summer. Expenses include ice time, coaching, off-ice training, skates, costumes and competitions several times each year.
My parents Zulma and Andres Calderon, are hardworking people, my dad is a pilot in Africa and he needs to travel over there to work. My Mom cares for me and my 2 sisters and my little brother. She works too. My Dad also has a second job to help to support my two sisters my little brother and my increasing skating expenses. At the present time, the cost of my skating is almost $30,000 a year, which is about average for a skater at my level of skating.
My folks and I are doing the best we can to pay my skating bills which is so hard to them that we need additional financial support. A fund has been set up for me at the New England Amateur Skating Foundation, and all donations to NEASF qualify as tax deductible under section 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) of the Internal Revenue Code. The full amount of your donation will be used for Skating relates expenses, and no administrative fees are charged.
